Link Hill House

A walled garden brought back to life totalling about ⅓ of an acre. Planted with a playful scheme of roses, perennials and a hot border along the south facing side. A testament to the love of roses the garden really at it’s best when these stars are in season. A small orchard of young fruit trees along with a gravel garden in its infancy. Planted by amateur gardeners and busy parents to bring joy.

About Link Hill House

The garden at Link Hill is a modest late Georgian early Victorian walled garden lost to time but in the process of being brought back to life by its current custodians. Embracing the need for the practicality of modern life the garden brings disparate elements with whimsy and broad brushstrokes of romance in the planting. Really most well captured is the owners’ love affair with the rose and particular highlights are the generous use of repetition of David Austin specimens which in early summer sing with fragrance. The scheme is unashamed chaos and a celebration of colour. Far from perfect this garden represents the work in progress of working parents who need a garden to enjoy and escape into.
