A now fully established garden with sweeping lawns down to beautiful open Sussex countryside, herbaceous beds and trees, and a large pond with bulrushes. Plentiful insect life inc dragonflies and damselflies; bee-friendly planting is key to the garden. Seating areas to enjoy the delightful vista.

About Merrie Harriers Barn

In summer 2023 there was a major replanting initiative throughout the main flower beds to further increase the varied and colourful planting. Near the entrance to the garden, the large area of topiarised box has been replaced with new hardier planting which should show the results of a new topiary design by June 2024.

In Cowbeech village, next to pub & opp Cowbeech House, follow yellow NGS signs. Please park in village & not outside the barn as it is on a dangerous bend.

A group opening is when a number of gardens open together on the same day.

Refreshments Light refreshments at Hill House (2-5). Teas (12-5) & BBQ lunch (12-2) at The Windmill. Refreshments in aid of The Windmill Hill Trust & NGS at Hill House only.
