Stumlet

The garden is nearing the end of the change from a playground for boys to a restful place with new beds and borders, a prolific herb garden and raised vegetable beds. There are places to sit and enjoy a little peace, scent and colour. Not a makeover, but a well chosen design executed to inc interesting plants for lasting enjoyment. A garden to watch develop in the future.

About Stumlet

Bringing up two boys meant a lawn with hardy shrubs bordering was ideal if not very inspiring. Now we are using the mature trees and shrubs as the framework to develop the spaces so that we and older members of the family can wander and enjoy different views and different plantings. This will mean fewer ball games, more hide and seek! There has been an emphasis on scented plants as well as ensuring colour and interest throughout the year. Herbs and raised vegetable beds with flowers weaving through the edibles.

In May there should be plenty of azaleas, daffodils and tulips and in June the roses and alliums should be strutting their stuff.
