About Mione

Our garden is not large but over time the lawn has shrunk as the beds have grown to accommodate as many plants as possible. We have a shady fern area and raised beds under the pergola housing woodland plants and semi tender specials. The pond is always busy with life, no fish as we wanted to encourage wildlife, we have plenty of newts and frogs, as well as abundant insect life, watching dragonflies emerge can occupy hours. Bats are about in the evening feeding on the bugs attracted by the water.

People who visit usually spend a long time enjoying one of the seating areas as they all give a different perspective. We do not go in for a colour scheme in the borders; plants are arranged according to leaf shape and anything that doesn’t look good we just dig up and move. The feel of the garden, we hope, is tranquil and relaxing and enjoys a beautiful view of the skirrid.
