Pardons

The garden owners are new to gardening and abound with enthusiasm and creativity. They are designing a cottage style garden to be shared with the family and their dog. The garden is very much 'work in progress' but already the pond, planting and changes in the last year indicate, that this special space, will be a splendid flower and vegetable garden, surrounded by its beautiful old wall.

About Pardons

Situated in the heart of Ditchling, the re-creation of this walled garden is an exciting project being undertaken by the novice garden owners.

Currently it is a large area of grass surrounded by flower borders, shrubs and a thriving wildlife pond. The surrounding flower and shrub borders no doubt will soon encroach into the grass as more and more plants and shrubs are added to the garden. Meanwhile close to the house there is a productive vegetable garden and greenhouse, edged with brick paths.

A chat with the owners will impart some of their enthusiasm to you as they embark on this journey to make a family garden in this special space. This garden is very much ‘work in progress’, a garden to watch over the years.
