About Plas Newydd
The garden’s historical relevance is evident in the care taken to preserve elements important to the Ladies, with particular attention paid to the roses that add both colour and fragrance. Each section of the estate, from the formal parterre to the hidden nooks, holds echoes of their vision—a living testament to the harmony between cultivated beauty and nature’s untamed elegance.
Notable features include Eleanor’s Bower, the Summerhouse, a font from Valle Crucis Abbey, a Victorian watertower, and a hydraulic pump building. Visitors will find tearooms and toilets for convenience, and a small car park. The formal gardens are level and easily accessible, though The Dell, with its woodland paths, may pose more of a challenge due to steep slopes and gravel surfaces. Please note, entry to the house is not included in the NGS admission.
