Quarry Bank

The house sits in what was once a small quarry. The front is edged with mature Horse Chestnut trees. The former lawn is a wild flower area with young fruit trees. At the rear a terraced garden rises between mature beech hedges. Formal elements with lots of pots, a circular lawn, lily pond and fountain. The garden becomes less formal as it reaches the brow of the hill and the view is revealed.

About Quarry Bank

The wild flower meadow is in its fourth year and is becoming more diverse. The new beech and yew hedges are also becoming more defined. Areas of wild planting occur throughout the garden. We would rather see weeds than rather bare soil and this approach also provides diverse habitat for wildlife. Last year we were rewarded with spectacular foxgloves as a result.
