About Rose Cottage

The garden was the brainchild of my wife and has all her hallmarks. Sadly, she died in March 2023 and this Open Day will be in her memory.

There are 3 areas, a main garden to the front and side of the house, a smaller ‘Mediterranean’ type garden to the rear and a woodland garden also to the rear. The main garden is planted with wildlife friendly flowers, has slate paths and a pond that attracts all 3 native species of newts. Numerous birds and insects are attracted to the garden.

The woodland garden has an area set aside as a wildflower area.

Our gardener, Aidan, has worked miracles to get it to the condition it is now in. Jenny, our daughter in law, has continued to plant up in my wife’s style.

All the gardens attract numerous birds and insects.
