About Sibford Gardens

In the two charming villages of Sibford Gower and Sibford Ferris, six contrasting gardens offer an afternoons pleasure and delight!

Ranging from the newly created private, nature friendly gardens of a much sought after landscape architect to a smaller walled garden which simply aims to capture the natural tranquillity where one can read with one’s back to the afternoon sun surrounded by unusual plants.

Explore the gardens of an Arts and Crafts house (1911) with an impressive Italianate courtyard and 2 acre garden designed by M H Baillie-Scott, wildlife friendly with a flower meadow, vegetable and cutting garden and herbaceous borders.

Discover thatched cottage gardens bursting with bloom and interesting planting, and contrast with two newly designed homes of architectural renown with fantastic landscaping and impressive planting the other. The first an exciting newly created garden with a vibrant and modern planting scheme in a woodland setting with challengingly sunny and shaded areas offers inspiring planting combinations. The second an integral part of a recently constructed house, extends over an acre. Its composition of lawns, meadow, kitchen garden and orchard take advantage of a gently sloping site and an elevated position that offers dramatic views across the northern tip of the Cotswolds. Native hedgerow plants strengthen the existing boundaries with large trees and arrangements of bird and pollinator friendly perennials and grasses adding colour and structure elsewhere

Explore an artist’s garden with planting chosen for its colour, form, texture in both the summer bloom and for the winter seed heads, to inspire many naturalistic works in mixed medias.
Featuring mixed herbaceous borders, lavender walk with box planting, wild life and flower meadow area surrounding a beautiful wild life friendly pond with dancing dragonflies and pollinating insects.

New for 2024, Gowers Close has a well stocked country garden that uses the natural gradient of the land to divide the garden into different zones that draw your eye and encourage you to explore. Do join us for an afternoon of delight!
