About Streamside Trees - Bonsai Experience
May is the very best time to view the vibrant colours of this varied garden. Mature camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons put on a colourful show which you can view from the streamside path. The stream itself forms a very pretty side boundary to the garden and can also be viewed from a small bridge. Many a guest has played ‘pooh sticks’ here!
There are numerous wildlife attracting features such as bug hotels, bird boxes, wood piles and a nature pond with many tadpoles and other creatures. The woodland area at the end of the garden is home to squirrels and foxes as well as a wide variety of garden birds
There are also many bonsai nursery areas where Julia grows and nurtures all the trees she uses from seed and cuttings. Her philosophy is that it is more rewarding to create your own bonsai than buy one ready made and there will be a display of the bonsai she has created over the past few years.
After a tour of the garden, refreshments will be provided and you can then enjoy Julia’s demonstration of how to create a bonsai from a starter tree. Hopefully this will whet your appetite to attend the hands-on experiences she runs as part of her business ‘Streamside Trees’.
