The Barn Gallery and Rose Gardens

From a garden originally planted with 300 roses, the ‘rose walk’ leads uphill to a stunning view point across the Bay to Newcastle, Kilkeel and the Mournes. The downhill path leads through herbaceous planting and dahlias to a white garden, and a planting of sunflowers when in season. Original stone built farmyard, fishpond, waterfall, rockery, herbaceous perennials etc. Artist's studio and gallery.

About The Barn Gallery and Rose Gardens

Circa 300 roses of over one hundred varieties were planted to create the Rose Garden and Rose Walk which leads to an elevated viewing point. Here a seating area within a stone circle allows spectacular views across Dundrum Bay to Newcastle, Kilkeel and the Mourne Mountains enhanced by a modern sculpture.
The downward path meanders through Prairie Planting with a Lavatera hedge, herbaceous perennials and shrubs, and hundreds of Dahlias and Sunflowers in season. Fruit trees.
The original stone built farmyard of Byre, Barn and Stable features a fishpond, waterfall, rockery, grape vines, honeysuckle, hydrangeas and rambling roses.
Artist’s Studio and Gallery featuring Oil Paintings of local landscapes and seascapes.
A visit here is an Art and Horticultural Experience all in one.

From Clough on A2 6 m. After Minerstown turn R signed St John's Point. From Killough A2 1.8 m turn L. Park opp Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, then 2 min walk. Limited disabled parking at garden.

This garden opens for By Arrangement visits from June to September for groups of up to 15.
