About The Coach House

This will be the third year Jane and Mike open their garden under the NGS. The garden shows both of their love for growing and the result is a family garden with colourful herbaceous borders, a productive fruit and vegetable plot, a cut flower garden close to the house and a large lawn for the occasional family rounders game.

Over the years Jane and Mike have extended the garden up the sandstone bank towards Burton Woods (NT). They have terraced the slope to retain as much water as possible on the dry shallow sandy soil. The result is a celebration of planting which thrives in dry and infertile conditions.

There are still plenty of projects in the pipeline and some of the garden is still a work in progress, but every year they hope you are able to see change.
