The Hurst

A 1½ acre garden based on the five elements: fire, water, earth, air and spirit, which is the subject of the garden owner's book 'Your Magical Garden'. At the heart of the garden is a cosmic spiral made from turf with a reflecting steel bowl at its centre. Borders are coloured themed to tie in with the elements.

About The Hurst

A 1 ½ acre garden that is in tune with the five elements (fire, water, earth, air, spirit). Each is represented by a different feature: a cosmic turf spiral; a fire pit; wind chimes; a moon gate; a pond; a wood-fired hot tub.

Planting is coloured themed accordingly with a fiery border contrasting with a pale, watery one. an earthy border next to an airy border full of lofty plants. Other features include a modern rockery brimming with alpines, a cutting garden of colourful annuals, a productive veg plot, polytunnel and fruit bushes. A heritage orchard with local varieties of apple, pear and plum trees, is fringed by a stream, and a Wild Service Tree.
The south-facing, the garden has unobstructed views of the Malvern Hills. There are also chickens and sheep so dogs must be kept on a lead. The garden is the subject of the owner’s book Your Magical Garden, which was published in 2022.
