About The Japanese Garden

Visit the Japanese Garden & Bonsai Nursery in St. Mawgan village, 1½ miles from the north coast and 6 miles east of Newquay, and discover an oasis of tranquillity. East meets West in this unique, peaceful garden. Set in approximately 1 acre, the water, stroll, moss & zen gardens offer a unique physical and spiritual experience.

Stand on the bridge or *Teahouse balcony, watch the fish glide by, listen to the waterfall tumbling into the pool, sit in the Zen viewing house silently contemplating the rockscape, or stroll the myriad paths absorbing the sights and smells of the beautiful azaleas, spectacular Japanese maples and much more. A journey through this garden is an experience to remember.

*Water Features: Young children need careful supervision.
*The ‘Teahouse’ does not serve refreshments, which are available 2-3 mins walk from our entrance at St. Mawgan Tea-Rooms & The Falcon Inn.

Our specialist Bonsai & Japanese Garden Nurseries occupy approx. 1 acre adjacent to the garden. The nurseries offer an extensive range of quality plants, statuary & accessories, together with expert advice. Spectacular bonsai display & stock for sale. Entrance free.
