About Townsend Farmhouse

A tree lined driveway with young specimen trees and mature broad leaves rising above swathes of spring bulbs. The garden is planted for year-round interest with hyacinths, tulips, fritillaria, early flowering lilacs and viburnums providing texture and scent in late spring. In May and June, the cottage-garden style herbaceous borders are filled with early perennials while roses wind their way through apple trees and ferns begin to unfurl. Changing colours of acers, hydrangeas, dahlias, asters and other late perennials offer up a final flourish in late summer.
Situated in the centre is a pretty cobbled courtyard with a glass house for tender specimen plants and a Victorian well 30 metres deep, viewed through a glass top. A large wildlife pond and a newly created shell grotto.
Enchanting Diwali themed opening in October is a spectacular display of lanterns, diya lamps and flower rangolis.
