Upwater Lodge

Edwardian house set in 7 acres bordering the river Cam. Rare breed sheep browse among the willows and poplars in the watermeadow. Wisterias on south side, hopefully in full bloom. Herbaceous borders, an orchard, a potager for soft fruit and sheltered area for kiwis, vegetables and vines. Maturing woodland with bluebells and cow parsley. Conscious attempt to blend the formal with the informal.

About Upwater Lodge

There are many borders filled with forget-me-nots in May, but planted with succession in mind. Gigantic wisterias on the house should be in full bloom. The wildlife is extensive with water birds, foxes and muntjac deer and sometimes nesting kestrels and swans. Now badgers and visiting storks too. Turf maintenance is a growing interest of the owners who have fine lawns, a grass tennis court, love mowers and do all the gardening themselves.

Cakes made with homegrown produce where possible. Some unusual recipes. Swings, ropes and plenty of space for children. Grass tennis court. Rare breed sheep. There may be plants for sale and some stalls. Please email for confirmation.
