Warren Farmhouse

Originally a strip farm, this is a zoned garden. The main family lawn and borders are planted for year-round interest. A secluded courtyard and formal fountain pond exists by the house. Vegetable beds and fruit cages lead to a spring interest woodland garden beyond which Soay sheep graze in a paddock. Fruit trees and woodland colonise the ridge and furrow hillside beyond.

About Warren Farmhouse

An unheated and a heated greenhouse are used to overwinter and propagate plants using home made compost. The garden is maintained to give year round evergreen interest with a relaxed feel but the plants have been carefully selected for the environmental conditions and sustainability. Now mature, this garden’s requirements now involve more pruning than new planting! A natural pond and stream running across the garden ensures plants survive during long dry periods in summer whilst providing a wildlife habitat.
