About Cedar House

Cedar House gardens are managed by the owner with the help of a full time experienced gardening team. There has been considerable investment in recent years including installation of a borehole and automatic irrigation to most beds and lawns. The principal areas are as follows:
1. Extensive herbaceous beds on the front drive and around the main house, including a lily pond with interesting sculptures.
2. Starting under the elegant Cedar of Lebanon, the Daphne statue walk is bordered on one side by a bed with Hellebores rotating to Rhododendron and Azaleas followed in the summer by Hydrangeas. There are also a range of Hamamelis on the other side of the path.
3. A collection of mature Acer Palmatum leads to the Woodland Glade which has interesting and rare trees and shrubs around the large fallen beech and Stumpery.
4. Then there is the woodland walk which starts with snowdrops and bluebells in the Spring.
5. On the large Cedar lawn there are fascinating sculptures, including one by David Harber.
5. The Peacock Garden is a glorious herbaceous bed with colour all spring and summer. Facing this is the Walled Garden with a restful seating area.
6. The water meadow garden and wildlife pond was created in 2023 and is now mature.
7. The Dry garden with bamboo and grasses leads to the swimming pool garden.
