About Cuddfan

Extending to 1.5 acres this Japanese garden has been in development for the last 13 years but many of the trees planted were much older specimens. With views across Red Wharf Bay the setting is breathtaking. Jacquie is a qualified garden designer who focused on Japanese garden design and is interested in the fusion between East and West. Now retired she likes to share her knowledge and experience of tree pruning and caring for the elements of a Japanese garden. She enjoys the symbolism of the traditional elements seen in Japanese gardens.

Japanese gardens focus on tree forms rather than flowers, though there are pops of colourful azaleas in the spring. Jacquie enjoys sharing the garden with others who appreciate this style of gardening and it has been visited by the Japanese Garden Society. Due to it’s rural location, down a single track lane to the beach at Wern y Wylan, Llanddona, Anglesey this garden is open by arrangement only for groups of about 10 visitors. Cuddfan would make an interesting calling point for a walking group, setting off from Llanddona and combining a garden visit with a walk through the woodlands to Wern y Wylan beach, Red Wharf Bay. Please contact Jacquie to find out about visiting Cuddfan.
