About Eaton Mascott Hall

The current owner has restored and enclosed what was a traditional walled garden to create an Italianate themed area of long vistas and formal geometric planting softened by English roses, pergolas, a wisteria walk, pools and statuary. A doorway in the garden wall takes visitors into a bamboo glade that opens out into the woodland walk through rhododendrons and azaleas.

From the woodland, romantic ivy-clad walks lead to the acer collection or passed an old pool and rockery garden into a formal area lined with herbaceous perennials and featuring a long, shallow pool filled with water lilies. Between this area and the walled garden is the orchard where the trees are planted amongst wildflowers in a small meadow. There are lovely views from parts of the garden across the surrounding parkland which is dotted with a number of ancient native trees. The garden has not previously been open for the NGS.
