About El Jardin de la Nuestra Senora
El Jardin de la Nuestra Senora – the Garden of Our Lady – is usually only glimpsed by the public through railings as they pass into Liverpool city centre on the No 75 bus.
It was created in the 1950s on the site of the church presbytery, destroyed in the 1941 May Blitz in World War 2.
Designed in the Spanish style, it was the inspired idea of the priest of St Philip Neri church at the time, Dr John Garvin.
This garden of the utmost tranquility and contemplation forms a beautiful addition to the Grade II* listed neo-Byzantine style church which it adjoins. These days the church is the Catholic Chaplaincy for both Liverpool and John Moores Universities.
This is a very rare opportunity to wander through this stunning garden
