One of Kent’s outstanding gardens and the favourite of many visitors. 14 acres with views over parkland. Something special year-round, from snowdrops and spring bulbs to the famous walled gardens. Outstanding trees and woodland garden with cornus collection and hydrangeas later. Two arboreta and a contemporary gravel garden.

About Goodnestone Park Gardens

The former home of Margaret, Lady FitzWalter, Goodnestone Park Gardens cover approximately 14 acres. The formal area with fine old specimen trees leads to a small arboretum with an avenue of limes. This adjoins a mature woodland area, with a 1920’s rockery. The walled garden (some walls dating back to the 17th century) has been redesigned over the last 30 years with new plantings continuing all the time. Jane Austen was a frequent visitor, as her brother married a daughter of the house. Plants are for sale which grow in the garden and have been propagated on the premises. Refreshments available at the Old Dairy Café.
