One of Kent’s outstanding gardens and the favourite of many visitors. 14 acres with views over parkland. Something special year-round, with famous walled gardens, outstanding trees and woodland garden with cornus collection and hydrangeas later. Also a contemporary gravel garden and new area of tropical planting.

About Goodnestone Park Gardens

The former home of Margaret, Lady FitzWalter, Goodnestone Park Gardens cover approximately 14 acres. The formal area with fine old specimen trees leads to a small arboretum with an avenue of limes. This adjoins a mature woodland area, with a 1920’s rockery. The walled garden (with walls dating back to the 17th century) has been redesigned over the last 30 years with new plantings continuing all the time, including a new tropical garden area. Jane Austen was a frequent visitor, as her brother married a daughter of the house. Refreshments available at the Old Dairy Café.
