About Hedgehog Hall
½-acre organically managed plant lover’s garden developed in a sheltered old sand and gravel quarry. Steps leading to three stone-walled terraced borders filled with shrubs, perennials and bulbs and a patio with far reaching views over the valley.
We have a large collection of Galanthus (Snowdrops) uniquely displayed on the terraces perfect for study and photography.
On the large level areas there is a Lavender walk, herb border, beautiful spring garden, colour themed long border and serpentine island bed packed with campanulas, astrantias, sanguisorbas, roses, clematis and many more.
Sheltered walled courtyard filled with a collection of hostas, acers, ferns, a wisteria and climbing hydrangea. Courtyard terrace border planted for year round interest with topiary and perennials.
Large raised shade bed filled with many rare and unusual plants and bulbs, including a collection of saxifrage fortuneii, snowdrops, many different ferns and hellebores, podophyllums, polgonatums and epimediums.
Recent introduction is a scree bed with many rare plants.
We have a great interest in attracting wildlife to our garden which means many of the plants are chosen to attract the large variety of bees and other pollinating insects that visit our garden.
