About Hill Top Farm

The garden integrates elements of a carbon neutral, net energy negative house without spoiling the garden landscaping and vistas to hills beyond. Most of the summer bedding is grown from seed in the Victorian-style greenhouse. The gardener is attempting, with mixed results, to grow plants which were happy in Surrey but challenging in this situation.

Planting choices are eclectic – whatever takes one’s fancy – including rarer plantings but in a style which is emphatically naturalistic, not least in the tropically inspired section. The garden is not boring!
