Hilltop

Summer at Hilltop is a gorgeous riot of colour and scent, the old thatched cottage barely visible amongst the flowers. Unusual annuals and perennials grow alongside the traditional and familiar, boldly combining to make a spectacular display, which attracts an abundance of wildlife. Always something new, the unique, gothic garden loo is a great success.

About Hilltop

This popular, peaceful and very rural garden is set in the very heart of Thomas Hardy country surrounded by fields with long views over the Blackmore Vale to distant misty blue hills.

Upon entering the garden through the little wooden latch gate you will find the most amazing mix of hardy perennials, unusual annuals and many different dahlias. Winding grass paths flow between lawns, borders, ponds and pergolas and other unique garden features, all designed and created by Brian & Josse.

The garden, full of colour and interest; is focused around an old thatched cottage and an ancient, shady oak. Many seats allow the visitor to contemplate this striking and unusual garden from many angles and at a leisurely pace .The owners, Brian and Josse Emerson, willingly answer any questions about the garden or the plants.

Refreshments are on offer in the garden. A large mug of tea or coffee with home-made cake is very welcome after a stimulating afternoon.
