At 11.30am on 17 February, there will be a fascinating talk on snowdrops is being held to coincide with our National Garden Scheme opening. Pre-booking is essential for the talk, which will last about an hour, and includes a visit to the garden after.
‘Suffolk based Galanthophile, Chris Wiley, shares his passion for snowdrops having collected them for a number of years, and more recently having taken ownership of over 1,000 varieties. Chris will talk you through how to extend the snowdrop season in your garden, with some suggested varieties that won’t cost the earth – and of course, some that do! The talk will cover a brief history of snowdrops up to exciting current developments, including Chris’s own, as well as the best way to build and appreciate a collection and how to extend the garden season through snowdrops.
Loved by gardeners, romantics, artists, tree-lovers & children, teas & excellent plant stall. A family garden established for practicality, birds and insects.
Developing collection of 100 plus named varieties of Snowdrops, over 50 varieties of Bearded Iris, over 30 varieties of Rose.
Not a ground-breaking garden in terms of clever modern design, but very popular with visitors who report it is as special as any for its magnificent setting, trees, atmosphere and sheer loveliness, and lots of ideas for low(er)-maintenance, high impact gardening.
