Isaacson’s

A plantsman's garden warmed and sheltered by the medieval walls of a C14 house (the oldest in Burwell), richly diverse in format and planting. There are 'theatres' (auricula, pinks), hints of Snowdonia, the Mediterranean, a French potager and traditional English. Throughout there are many interesting, unusual and rare plants. Around each corner a new vista surprises.

About Isaacson’s

Isaacson’s was formerly a medieval Lodging Range. The hints of Snowdonia are through slate, ferns and water; the Mediterranean from Oleander, Acanthus and Hibiscus. There are also unusual apples (Five Crown Pippin, Court Pendu Plat, Cornish Gilliflower etc); a collection of epimediums; old-fashioned dianthus, plenty of roses and much else. The garden was awarded first prize in the 2021 village garden competition and was also awarded first prize for greatest diversity of planting. We have successfully welcomed international garden study groups in previous years.
