Beautiful historic village in glorious setting on River Cain with otters and a myriad of bird life. Motte and bailey fort Domen Gastell; church of St Garmon dating back to 1603 and a C17 pub. Llanfechain has medieval motte & bailey earthworks and is centred around the Church of St Garmon which dates back to 1603. Some interesting buildings dating back to the same period are clustered around the church. The Grade II pub, Plas Yn Dinas, is C17 and served as a courthouse in the past.
