About Oak Cottage

Oak Cottage has teamed up with the Berkshire Bonsai Society to offer a 2 in 1 opening – a Bonsai show and Bonsai talks together with the opportunity to see round the woodland garden.
Front garden will host a display of many varieties of Bonsai trees from the Berkshire Bonsai Society. Trees under development will also be shown – together with demonstrations on pruning and training Bonsai. Short talks (15 mins) on growing Bonsai and their care will be given at 12.15pm, 1.45pm and 3.45pm.
The large number of trees creates a woodland feel, with many interesting varieties of shade-loving plants and ferns. Several varieties of Japanese maples both in containers and in the garden. Pergola covered by wisteria and grape vines with feature fountain. Greenhouse with tomatoes and edibles. There is also a small herbaceous border. Three times slots are available to book – 11.30am – 1pm; 1.30pm – 3pm and 3.30pm – 5pm, slots can be booked online via the NGS website.
