About Pudding Hill Barn
Designed by its owners, who say; “We’re enthusiastic amateurs who love natural form and landscapes. We have tried to gently fuse our garden with our land.” Established in 2022 the gardens are surprisingly mature. Cypresses link the tall gable of the house with secret walled pathways, intermingling a palette of hewn stone, rusted troughs and split chestnut fencing. The walled garden features unusual white lavender, neat box, roses, agapanthus, jasmine, verbena, gaura and clematis.
Wildflower under-sown paddocks, a bountiful orchard, a ‘dry-dead hedge’ woodland windbreak, and traditionally lain hedges provide wonderful wild habitat and biodiversity. Over 50 new trees have been planted; 12+ indigenous species.
After leisurely meanderings, arrive at the Trout House, pause and reflect, enjoy the panorama and take the opportunity to spot some of the 65 bird species recorded here.
