Stumlet

Those who first visited this NGS garden in 2018 would be amazed by the transformation that has now taken place. The teas for St Catherine's Hospice have always been excellent and the welcome warm, but now as you round the house to the back garden, the visual impact is stunning. Why not wander through the borders and discover the spirit of this garden?

About Stumlet

Along with the transformation of the garden at Stumlet, the garden owners’ love for their plants, garden and gardening has greatly increased. The garden has changed from being a place for the young boys to play football to an inspirational space for all members of the family to wander, sit and enjoy different views and different plantings. The simple structure of hardy shrubs bordering the grass has been replaced with beds and borders of interesting plants, roses and shrubs, interspersed with some new trees. In the redesign, there has been an emphasis on scented plants as well as ensuring colour and interest throughout the year. Herbs and raised vegetable beds with flowers weave through the edibles.
This has not been a makeover but a well chosen design executed to inc interesting planting for lasting enjoyment.
The ambience, the warm welcome and the teas are not to be missed.
One couple, down specially for the trail from South London, declared that it was well worth the trip to visit this garden alone. Praise enough!
