About The Deane House

This beautifully landscaped garden and vineyard with chalk loving plants at The Deane House is set in rolling countryside close to Stockbridge and Winchester. It is predominately South and East-facing. Gently terraced lawns and paths enable easier access for wheelchairs. The garden is carefully designed for the whole family to enjoy including a children’s play area and plenty of places for outdoor entertainment.

A large terrace and a ‘Ripple’ water feature face towards a Millennium avenue of Tulip trees which flower every spring underplanted with narcissi and daffodils. Airbnb guests enjoy looking out over the more formal walled garden which is filled with roses and dainty blooms in high summer. Wild flower planting, shrubs and yew, beech and box hedging add year round interest

Garden enthusiasts are welcome to visit in spring when a multitude of spring flowers brighten up the grounds. Also recommended, evening visits in June when the highly perfumed roses are at their finest in the walled garden.

In late August and September the borders glow with hot colours and bees and butterflies fill the air amongst gently terraced lawns with shrub and flower borders. There is a productive orchard and cherry trees lead the eye to the stunning views which surround the house. Visitors have the opportunity to relax in this family garden taking in the stunning views, the scent of flowers, the sound of birdsong and bees and other insects going about their day.
