About The Manor

Stunning formal Arts and Crafts garden surrounding William Juxon, Archbishop of Canterbury’s historic manor house (not open). In the garden, you can immerse yourself in the many varied garden rooms including the long herbaceous Palette, Flower Garden, and Thai Garden. Newly planted in 2023 is the Cactus Garden in the old rock garden, which is generating a lot of interest. The wheelchair route was extended in 2023, allowing access to the tennis court lawn, Terraces, Cactus Garden and meadow. There are winding paths mown through the meadow, so you can get in amongst the butterflies and birds. Our deer park is the smallest in the country, and we have a flock of Soay sheep which are kept in fields adjacent to the garden. The friendly garden team are available to help with any questions you may have. Excellent teas and cakes are served in the churchyard next door. We occasionally donate 15% of ticket proceeds to a charity of our choice.

Arts and Crafts layout, water features, extensive mixed planting and styles, formal lawns, hedges and topiary, unique enclosed setting, sculptures, deer and sheep.
