About The Old Mission
The Old Mission Whiston
The Old Mission garden is set amongst the fantastic Staffordshire Countryside, in the tiny hamlet of Whiston. Farmland surrounds the Mission with wide spreading glorious views. The one acre garden spreads from either side of the house, to the left a woodland garden with many shade loving plants grow under very tall pines, to the right is the orchard , Kitchen garden, fruit cages , in the centre an impressive grand oak split into two centuries ago by a long forgotten storm. Through the middle flows the source of the River Penk, a brook that runs through the entire garden. Bordering the brook are many thousands of spring bulbs and flowers with planting that continues the colour right through the season. There are statues , carved pieces and garden ornaments throughout the borders (including the old Mission clock tower), which complement the borders. Throughout the garden many of the Beets children toys, trampoline, swings and a pretty Wendy house with its own cottage flowers and window boxes, ask the children to show you one of their dens. The ultimate cooler in the hot weather is the Mediterranean styled swimming pool complete with outdoor kitchen , with its wide patios that embrace sun loungers and seating, a lovely place to eat cake! .
