About The Walled Garden, Blatherwycke Estate
Blatherwycke estate encompasses a large acreage and at the heart of this are the hall grounds. After the great hall was demolished in the late 1940s its grounds and gardens were lost. In 2011 the renovation of the derelict 4 acre walled garden began, kitchen garden, wall trained fruit trees, extensive herbaceous borders, tropical bed, wild flower meadows and large arboretum have been planted. Restoration of the crinkle crankle wall and Ice House has been completed and new steps and gates created. Also open is the 12th century church with beautiful views across the huge lakes and grounds.
