Tonbridge School

In front of and behind Tonbridge School you will find five gardens that you can visit. These are: The Boars Head, The Garden of Remembrance, Smythe Library Garden, Skinners Library Garden, and the Barton Science Centre Garden. We hope the Chapel will be open for visits.

About Tonbridge School

A good variety of trees, manicured lawns, and a mixture of shrub and perennial borders that contain some highly scented and bee friendly plants. All this set against a unique and historic backdrop that is the 16th century architecture of Tonbridge School. The school was founded in 1553. The gardens are constantly evolving and over the last few years are becoming a Tonbridge landmark.
The Head Gardener will be providing guided tours at regular intervals throughout the day.
Cream Teas available to purchase. There will be the opportunity to purchase plants through a nursery.

At N end of Tonbridge High St. Parking signed off London Rd (B245 Tonbridge-Hildenborough) in the Tonbridge Sports Centre car park.

You can just turn up and pay on the day.

  • All gardens can be accessed by wheelchair. Please note that Skinners Library path is uneven. Easy access to the Orchard Centre Restaurant.
