About Whitcombe House

This is a garden in a beautiful setting with the church as a backdrop. It has a remarkably peaceful atmosphere, often remarked upon by visitors, and has been loved and tended by many different people over the centuries, all of them contributing to its development. A wrought iron bridge made by a local blackmith crosses a small waterfall. Plants are mostly allowed to self seed and develop where they like even when they don’t fit into the original planting scheme. Despite best endeavours, there is usually a lot of bindweed to enjoy!
