With a mix of both natural and cultivated areas, this beautiful garden is the setting for outstanding views from the hospice across the Derwent Valley. The gardens are maintained and cared for by volunteers and inc wildflowers, shrubs, perennials, and a large wooded area, as well as memorials and dedications for loved ones.

About Willow Burn Hospice

With a mix of both natural and cultivated areas, this beautiful garden is set in approximately 2 acres and offers outstanding views from the hospice across the Derwent Valley. The gardens are maintained and cared for by volunteers and include wildflowers, shrubs, perennials, and a large wooded area. Throughout the garden there are seating areas, as well as memorials and dedications for loved ones.

The garden is a haven for local wildlife and is a retreat for peace and reflection away from the stresses of the modern world.

Refreshments will be available in the Willows, our beautiful community café located at Willow Burn. Parking is available onsite and payment is cash, chip and pin and contactless. Open Monday to Saturday, 10am – 2.30pm

The Potting Shed, a plant and gift shop will also be open throughout the day.

Parking is available at Willow Burn Hospice, and additional parking is available at St Bede’s Catholic School, a 10 – 15 minute uphill walk. We advise that accessible parking should be utilised at the hospice.

Turn into the Maiden View Estate from the main road. Then take the 2nd L once inside the estate and drive down to car park.
