1 Whitehouse Cottages

Nestled betwixt farmland in rural Essex, is our small secret garden, that has a wonderful charm to it. Bordered by three acres of paddocks with grazing horses, a little plot of loveliness wraps around our Victorian cottage, roses and grape smother the porch in June. A meandering lawn takes you through beds and borders softly planted with a cottage feel, a haven for wildlife and people alike.

About 1 Whitehouse Cottages

Our garden is a haven for wildlife, visitors often comment they could sit for hours just listening to the birds, and that’s exactly what we’d like to invite you to do. Bring your camera, sit for a while, breath out and relax.

Parts of our garden are un tended, this is a deliberate strategy to encourage wildlife and give them rough areas of garden, undisturbed by cultivation.
The planting is designed to stimulate the senses, touch the grasses, smell the roses, hear the trees on the breeze.

Dean Harris, a local artist blacksmith, will have a pop-up forge, making and selling metal garden accessories.
