About 10 Chestnut Way

The garden has been dramatically changed over the winter 2022/2023 with a significant area of woodland being sold to a neighbour. The garden was shortlisted for the nations favourite garden 2023. The garden is still large and incorporates all the original elements just in different places. Leisurely wander through sweeping mixed borders, spring bulbs, mature trees to a stunning butterfly bed. There is a rapidly maturing arboretum (planted 2005); wooden mushrooms keep popping up and there are fairies at the bottom of the garden! Recent developments include, home made stones troughs and an extended gravel area. The garden is great for groups of visitors – why not organise a private opening with your club or just a group of friends. You can expect a colourful display throughout the year and of course it will be different from last time you came. The compost heaps will make you green with envy! Grafted tomatoes and grapes thrive in the greenhouse. There are plenty of seats to take in the garden. The conservatory may be used – rain or shine.
Visit by arrangement in February for Snowdrops you’ll also see many Helebores, Daphnes and early shrubs (to be enjoyed with our home made soup).
