Barlborough Gardens

Barlborough is an ancient village, steeped in history, perched on the top of yellow limestone scarp in the furthest North East corner of Derbyshire. The July weekend garden opening coincides with the 'Big Barlborough Festival' with lots of additional exhibitions and activities taking place. St James The Greater Church, an ancient place of worship will be open to visitors both afternoons of the July opening weekend. Six colourful gardens of different sizes and styles will be opening their garden gates. A map detailing the location of all six gardens, plus a community garden, will be issued with adm ticket. About Barlborough Gardens

Barlborough Gardens 2025 include a well established garden developed over 50 years, a tranquil garden created in an unusual layout, amidst hard landscaping, a garden created from old farm land, the development of a garden on a long narrow plot, a beautiful courtyard garden and finally a small garden where a beautiful oasis for wildlife has been provided.
Refreshments will be available at The Hollies where lovely countryside views be enjoyed. An extensive cake menu will be available with a wide choice of home made cakes, including a savoury option as well as gluten free, sugar free, dairy free and vegan bakes plus a selection of hot and cold refreshing drinks.Cake boxes will be available to take some extra slices home.
Roadside parking can easily be found across Barlborough. The large lay-by outside Heritage Senior School on Boughton Lane can be used for parking when visiting 90 Boughton Lane which is located immediately after the lay-by. Turn left and walk down the drive to the back of the houses and across to the garden gate to the far side.
