The Herstmonceux Castle Estate has formal gardens, woodland trails, meadows and lakes set around a majestic C15 moated castle. The gardens and grounds first opened for the NGS in 1927.

Our Tea Room offers light lunches and afternoon teas, together delicious home-made cakes.
The Marlow Rope Maze is fun for all the family and there is also a small outdoor children’s play area. Free kids activity sheets can be obtained on arrival at our ticket office.
Visitors are welcome to bring picnics.
