Kings Cottage

An old row of cottages with mature trees and yew hedging. Over the last eight years a new design and planting scheme has been started to reduce the areas of lawn, bring in planting to complement the house (not open) and setting, introduce new borders and encourage wildlife. A work in progress.

About Kings Cottage

Kings Cottage comprises a row of 17th century cottages converted in the 20th century into a single home. The garden comprises the original cottage gardens (largely laid to lawn at the rear with mature yew hedges, pond and trees and planting at front). In the 1950s a further area of land was acquired (now comprising spinney, lawn, planting and tennis court) and in the 1980s a paddock was acquired (now with mown paths and planted with trees). The plot is nearly three acres in size and has been owned by the current owners for eight years. A redesign and planting scheme for the garden is being implemented but is a work in progress.

Light refreshments include teas, coffees, soft drinks and cake.
