About Peacock Cottage
The exotic bed created in 2015 features a mixture of tropical plants and grasses many of which survive the winter with protection. Dahlia & Canna provide pockets of bright colour.
An old dew pond is now home to a living willow dome.
A parterre, which has successfully recovering from box blight, contains spring tulips followed by lilies in the summer with cosmos.
Mature trees including Scot’s pine, yew and an oak tree, probably planted in 18th C, provide height and a link with the gardens of the past.
Prunus spinosa has been used to create an unusual boundary hedge between the garden and tennis court.
The top of the garden has a serpentine bed planted with silver foliage and a wild flower area connecting the garden to surrounding paddock of newly planted trees.
