About Sunningdale
A seaside garden with 3 distinct areas. The Headland is a wild area with accessible beaches, caves, cliffs, wildflowers and heathers. Seating to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the wildlife from butterflies to dolphins. There are many paths which must be adhered to because of sheer drops and the wildflowers we are nurturing.
The enclosed front garden used for teas is surrounded by shrubs and planting has a raised pond, friendly fish, a small wildlife pond and a stream through the associated planting. This area is a stone’s throw from the sea and although it is surrounded by a hedge has to deal with harsh conditions.
The relatively sheltered rear garden is a modern cottage style garden featuring a spectacular old Scottish laburnum in flower late April/May. There are plenty of plant species and varieties, including wisteria, roses and clematis all made possible by innovative protection from the wind. There are raised vegetable beds, a fruit area, a small wild area, some gravel beds, an interesting composting facility and lots of seating including gabion inspired seating. Open style fencing, hedges and paths create secluded areas and complex vistas giving ideas for any garden. The back garden access is via steps, the headland also has steps to reach all areas.
