About Tiresford
Old established garden from the 1930s undergoing a major restoration project to reinstate it to its former glory. The garden has fabulous views of both Beeston and Peckforton Castles. So far most of the work has concentrated on hard landscaping focusing on paths, the front terrace and a private courtyard garden. There has also been a major project of tree removal to open up the vistas once more. Work has now begun on the herbaceous borders, the rhododendron woodland walk, the sunken ‘hot’ garden. This year we hope to realise our long term plan is to recreate the kitchen garden. Also we aim to focus on the water features from the fountain near the house to the planting around the pond once used as a watering hole by the pack horses from the Winsford salt mines. The ambition is to bring back a once vibrant garden to reflect the hospitality of the house. It is a glorious garden to spend an afternoon relaxing and drinking tea and Tiresford has a fantastic plant stall all of which is grown on site.
