About Westbrooke House

The victorian walled flower garden was redesigned and replanted in 2014 along with the kitchen garden with it’s raised beds and cloches.
The multi coloured perennial border around the main lawn is planted with oranges, yellows and reds, and leads to the woodland path.
The Spring garden with ‘Sid the stag’ leads to the orchard greenhouse.
Access to the bluebell woodland area to the front of the property is under a weeping willow tree and over a river bridge and leads to a folly and Forest School.
The walled garden features a wonderful show of over 10,000 tulips for the April 27th opening and makes way for a vivid display of herbaceous perennials and roses which continue to provide colour throughout the summer months.
The lower garden was re-landscaped and planted in May 2017 and features perennial borders, summerhouse and commissioned slate water feature and rill.
A secret garden with fernery and water feature was added during lockdown in early 2021 as was the ‘bug hotel’.
The courtyard houses a collection of over 270 miniature and very small hostas.
The ‘cloud garden ‘ to the front of the house was re-landscaped in early spring 2023.

The gardens featured in Alan Titchmarsh’s “Love your garden”in August 2019 on ITV and also in the magazines The English Garden (April 21) ,Homes and Gardens (June 21)and ‘The Countryside (July21).
Westbrooke House was a midlands finalist for ‘The Nation’s Favourite Garden 2021’ competition run by the NGS and The English Garden magazine.
