About Whixley Gardens
Attractive rural yet accessible village nestling on the edge of the York Plain with beautiful historic church and Queen Anne Hall (not open). The gardens span the village with good footpaths. A plantsman’s and flower arranger's garden at Cobble Cottage has views to the Hambleton Hills. In the centre of the village the garden at Laburnum Farm has been developed over the last eight years with formal parterre at the front and mixed herbaceous borders and a small courtyard leading to an orchard and paddock to the rear. Close to the church is The Old Vicarage with a ¾ acre walled flower garden overlooking the old deer park. The walls, house and various structures are festooned with climbers creating the atmosphere of a romantic English garden. Wheelchair access to The Old Vicarage only.
