About Willow Pond

Willow Pond, Eckington is a colourful and relaxing just-over-an-acre private village garden with a Grade II listed black and white cottage (not open) at its centre. There are areas of lawn with well-stocked, herbaceous borders, a barn garden with vegetable plot. There are several water features including a small pond. There is a rose covered pergola, a ‘Mediterranean’ terrace garden and a cottage garden, along with greenhouses, large planted pots and choice plants. Willow Pond is gardened in an informal style and for wildlife, there are areas where the grass is allowed to grow long and self-seeded plants are mostly welcome. There are no fish in the wildlife pond but newts, frogs and dragon-fly instead. There are two raised ponds with fish and water plants. We have slugs and snails and hedgehogs too. Developed over the last 8 years, the garden is thriving and constantly evolving.
