About 1 Elia Cottage
Snowdrops are always a welcome sight after a cold winter with hellebores and early crocus the perfect neighbours. Close on their heels follow chionodoxas and daffodils with the charming little faces of sweet primroses and violets peeping at you, especially along our primrose path.
There are always a variety of wild flowers such as sweet rocket, campion and cow parsley which compete with cottage garden favourites. In June clematis and roses abound and in our small wild flower meadow moon daises and corn-cockle can be espied.
Please note some paths are narrow and steep and can be slippery if wet. Odd pieces of art can be found here and there and do look out for the fairies at certain times of the year! Normally a garden quiz or fairy trail can also be enjoyed by young and young at heart.
In 2022 we added over half an acre of land opposite which includes a large natural pond and a bench where you can rest a while. We continue to work on this area to make it a haven for wildlife, with snowdrops in early spring, winding paths, island beds and later a wild flower meadow.
